Fire Ban Print E-mail

We just checked with Min. of Forests and the word is that March 31st is being considered as the deadline for burning. The date is not official yet, but it's a heads-up to everyone who is trying to get their felled trees and ground fuels cleaned up. Once the ban is in effect it will mean no machine piles OR hand piles. The only size of fire that will be allowed will be a small campfire within a ring of stones. Being as this really shortens the time we all have to work on getting fire-safe, we thought we'd pass the word.

We have a water access only cabin at Murphy lake but live in Chilliwack.  As usual we are anxious to go up to our cabin in the spring and wonder if anybody knows what the ice situation is this year.  It's been so mild.  Any info would be appreciated.
